Welcome to Zack's Place

Everyone needs friends. Often people with special needs find their social lives begin and, more importantly, end with school.  In response to this reality, founders Norm and Dail Frates envisioned Zack's Place, a community enrichment center for people with special needs. The Frates dreamed of a relaxed environment where Norm's son Zack and his friends would be free to express themselves with other artistic people from the community. This vision for a community enrichment center was realized in the Fall of 2006 when Zack's Place opened its doors. Now, Zack and his friends look forward to gathering several times each week and together enjoy art, music, dance, and exercise while developing life-long bonds.

Zack's Place is situated on a small village side street, within easy walking distance of the public library, the town green, the elementary school, Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historic Park, public playgrounds, Town Hall Theatre, and Billings Farm. The building contains a first-floor studio that accommodates yoga, visual art projects, live music, storytelling, games, and other activities. Programs are provided at no cost to participants, their families, or guardians. All are welcome.
